I don't care about the tech stack

I’ve identified as a “Rails developer” since that’s what I’ve done for most of my career, but I think this is holding me back.

I don’t care too much about the tech to be honest. I know I have to care in some sense, but with AI this doesn’t matter too much anymore, using something reasonable and boring is good enough.

What I really care about is building products.

I started dabbling with Elixir and Phoenix about a year ago and I think it’s perfect for apps that need high availability, real-time capabilities, but so is Node or even Rails. Can Elixir handle more load? Yes, but does that matter? Yes and no, it could at a later time but you can address it then.

You should probably use what you know, and if there’s a problem that warrants a niche tech solution, then use that too!
